Basic Principle

Therapeutic, high-frequency ultrasound

(1 to 3 MHz) was utilized for a longer time due to its analgesic, coagulative and antifibrotic characteristics. However, as the desired effect on the subcutaneous fat tissue could not be achieved with high-frequency ultrasound during the treatment of lipodystrophy, low-frequency ultrasound is now used in this field.
